"Silentwriter"

{2009}

My husband and I will be married 24 years in August of 29.  We elected not to have children when we decided to marry.  Thus we have always had one or more furry children in our household as you will see on my Fondest Pictures pages.  My husband and I were born in the very same year and will both be 60 years of age this year.  However, we are what is called "old hippies" and you know about "old hippies", they never grow old, nor do they ever look old!

We are formerly from Long Island, New York and now we live in the state of Pennsylvania - somewhere in the U.S.A.

My videos can also be viewed at YouTube and you will have a link to that as well on my "Fondest Pictures Page".

We are retired "old hippies" and thus my husband volunteers for "Habitat For Humanity" and I am volunteering for this organization as well this year.  I am making a scrapbook for the new homeowners who will move into their first house in June of this year.  If you don't know much about this subject, I hope you will research it on the internet.

I have many other interests however, not just volunteering for Habitat.  I write to 13 pen pals from the U.S.A., Europe and Canada.  I write short stories and poetry.  I create beautiful and unique greeting cards and address labels on the computer and use my own verse, graphic and/or picture for each greeting card depending upon the person I am creating the card for.  I also crochet afghans, love to cook and bake, enjoy photography, travelling, keeping up with friends and family, computer, learning new programs and of course last but not least "my butta cats"!

You are probably wondering what "Butta Cat" stands for....well, it means "Pussy Cat"....you see when I call my cats instead of saying "pussy cat, pussy cat, I say butta cat, butta cat".  I know, I know this doesn't make sense to a lot of you but it does to me and it seems to make sense to "my boys" as well.

Now you are probably wondering where in the world did she get the name "Silentwriter".  I've been writing since I was around 9 or 10 years of age and I have always written in silence.  No one ever knew that I had written a darn thing.  I never showed any of my writings to anyone until I was much, much older.

Over the years, I have forgotten a lot of my grammar skills. However, just like riding a bicycle, I am sure it will come back and then I will be happy to show some of them to you.

When I was in high school my literature teacher used to tell me I had a talent to write and that I should pursue it some day.  Unfortunately that day never came for me.  I know I could have tried to pursue it on my own but I guess I was just too busy trying to earn a living.

My Greeting Cards

This card was made for my niece Emily's 14th birthday in February of 2009. I have written much nicer verses but I was under pressure to create and mail this card so that she would receive it for her birthday. I am proud to announce that Emily was accepted into "La Guardia High School" in New York City.  Emily is a very bright girl with a wonderful future.  She has been drawing since a young girl and is an accomplished artist in her own right.  However, Emily has juvenile macular degeneration and may one day lose her eye sight thus I believe she opted to take voice at this high school as my sister tells me this is another passion of hers as well.

In the future you will be able to see how creative I can be with my verses.  For now however, this will have to do. At least you can see how I designed the card.  Most of my cards have colored backgrounds inside the card as well as a graphic on the left side of the card.  This one does not.
